How To Eat More and Lose Weight! No, Really - This is an interesting article about what the author calls the metabolic adjustment phase. What she says is that after six weeks or so of dieting, the body attempts to lower its metabolism to only need the amount of calories that are being taken in. This would effectively make the dieter stop losing weight. What the author says can be done to avoid this is more food should be eaten for a short period time. I was interested enough in this plan to click over to the authors website, but once I got there I did not explore any farther because the site sells prepared meals. I cannot imagine any mother or father seeing success with a provided meals plan. Besides, it's just not practical when you still have a family to feed.
