My Ford F150 Review

I own a 2000 Ford F150 super cab pickup truck. The super cab is the one with the three-quarters back seat and the backwards-opening doors. The backseat is much bigger than the pickups that only have a half backseat with a tiny fold-up seat that goes in the corner. It's almost a real backseat, just with much less legroom than a full backseat.

Anyway, I really like my Ford. It sits up high off the ground, giving me a good view. It is big enough to haul lumber or my kayak or a trailer, but not so big you can't park it anywhere. The ride is smooth and it handles easily. I bought it used at 20,000 miles, and now it has 60,000 miles on it, but I've never had any problems with it. The air conditioning works great.

Now, my only two complaints: My front seat is a bench seat, and my husband says this is uncomfortable on long trips. It doesn't bother me because I am driving, but he can't recline at all.

My biggest complaint is that the 3/4s back seat is a real pain and maybe even unsafe if you have a child in a carseat. When my son was in a rear-facing car seat, we had a real hard time getting it to fit in the back seat. I even had to sit a little closer to the steering whell than I would have liked, and the back of the car seat still touched the front seat. Now that my son is in a front-facing carseat, there is not much of a gap between the front seat and his legs. We are in the process of trying to get someone to take out our bench seat and install bucket seats, thereby creating a gap where my son sits. If we can't get this done though, I am going to trade in the F150 for a van.
