Healthy and High Quality Juice with Citrus Juicer

Citrus juice is a mainstay beverage that would always be a part of every American home for generations to come, just as it was for generations in the past. The citrus juice is a very nutritious beverage that is very rich in vitamins and minerals. This is the main reason why people love it. Aside from its great taste and natural sweetness, it also packs a punch in providing healthy goodness to the body. The citrus juice is as good as the citrus juicer that existed just as long as the fruit itself. People must have a way of extracting all that liquid substance from the fruit in any way possible. The need for a juicer today is much more complicated than before. Today the juicer must contend with convenience and quality juice.

Manual juicers are great options but it has limitations that might just not cut it for some people. First it is time consuming, second it can be very messy to use and third, it is only able to process citrus water, a nutritionally limited citrus extract. Some people see these downsides too much to overlook.

The next option would be the electric powered juicers like the masticating juicer and the triturating juicer. These juicers can be very convenient you can just turn it on and leave the fruit to be juiced all by itself. If you are a person on the go this is a juicer you would really love. You just leave the fruit inside the juicer while you prepare for work and as soon as you are ready to go, the juice is also ready for you.

These juicers also have the ability to use all the edible parts of the citrus fruit. This includes the pulp among other things. This can be a better quality juice, foamy and pulpy and full of the citrus’ natural goodness plus the maximum health benefits.

Ninja Master Prep Blender Food Processor Review

There is an exciting new product that I’ve added to my kitchen recently.  The Ninja Master Prep.  It’s a blender.  It’s a food processor.  Actually, it does the job of both appliances surprisingly well.  It’s the first appliance of this type that I have ever had that I use nearly every day.  If you’re at all interested in eating healthy, and by that I mean more raw fruits and vegetables, the Ninja Master Prep just may change your life.  It’s that good at what it does.  But before we get into what it can do for you, let’s take a look at what you get.

The Ninja Master Prep comes with the following:
The Master Pod also sometimes called a Power Pod.
A 48 oz. pitcher with a cover that they call a splash guard, a storage lid , and blades.
A 2 cup bowl with splash guard, storage lid, and blades.
A recipe book, and a quick start guide
The pitcher and the bowl also both have a soft rubber ring around the bottom providing a no-slip bottom.

The pitcher can be used to make several drinks at one time.  Personally, I use it to make healthy green smoothies for breakfast.  It’s fast and easy.  It’s the same size as a blender, and really that’s how it can be used.  Of course, it makes a great food processor too, as does the smaller 2 cup bowl.  The power pod can be switched from one to the other in just seconds.  The power pod uses one touch pulsing to do the work.  If you need a puree however, you just hold the switch down a little longer.  The Ninja Master Prep makes short work of its tasks.

In general, the 2 cup bowl is used mostly for prep work in the kitchen.  It minces, Dices, Chops, Blends, and Purees.  The 48 oz. pitcher can also do all that.  They both use the quad blade system which sets the Ninja apart from all the other blenders and food processors.  It’s phenomenal for crushing ice too, for either drinks or snow cones.  You can make delicious healthy ice cream too.  Some frozen fruit, a milk ( I use soy milk) a few seconds of processing and you’re done.

All the parts are dishwasher safe too.  The bowl, the pitcher and the lids are microwave safe too.  Why choose between a blender and a food processor when you can have both in one appliance with The Ninja Master Prep.

Introducing Canopy Bed Curtains for Kids

Canopy bed curtains are usually best suited for setting romantic moods for couples.  But oftentimes children can be very inquisitive and wont to explore, and couples with kids may want to consider setting up a canopy bed complete with canopy bed curtains for kids.  However, there are several things to consider before satisfying your kids’ inquisition with a canopy bed for themselves.

Safety, first and foremost, would be a major consideration.  The canopy bed, curtains included, needs to be free of any sharp edges that may injure children, especially those who play a bit on the rough side.  In fact, choosing a bed with blunt surfaces is the most advisable way to go.  Kids will always be kids, so ensure that their safety is the very first thing to consider when buying their canopy bed.

Second tip would be to choose cotton as the fabric for your child’s canopy bed curtains.  Not only is it durable and washable, cotton is also a soft fabric that is  easy to the touch for children and adults alike.  Other fabric options include lace and acrylic, but lace would be a fabric more suited for adults and teenagers, while acrylic, despite providing warmth and durability, may be too rough a fabric for the children in the house.

Other factors, like choosing the right design and size for your kid’s canopy bed are best left to you, the customer, being the most knowledgeable on what your kid wants and what would keep him or her happy.  It also helps to talk to your children first before making the purchase – make sure that they understand that beds are primarily for sleeping and not for playing.  But with the first two tips in mind, and with your child’s safety as your first priority, choosing the right canopy bed curtains for kids and the bed itself would be a cinch.

Feeling a little brave, and want to venture out from the beef, chicken, and pork, that is so heavily consumed by our society? If you have never tried buffalo meat before, you are in for a wonderful treat. Some people are a little bit hesitant to try buffalo, but once they do, most people like it very much. Unlike some wild game, buffalo does not have a strong gamey taste, and its flavor is often described as very similar to beef, yet more rich tasting and savory. Buffalo can be used in all the popular ways that beef is served, including, hamburgers, ribs, roasts, steaks, stews, and even buffalo jerky.

Buffalo, also known as bison, once numbered in the millions, and they were a life sustaining food source for the American Indians. They were almost hunted to extinction, but luckily their numbers have came up, and their prized meat is now available for you to purchase at affordable prices. However you decide to use this meat, it will certainly be enjoyed if it is cooked right. Because buffalo meat has less fat, and more protein than other meats like beef and pork, it is easier to overcook it. No one likes overcooked, tough meat, but thankfully with a few considerations, it is easy to make buffalo meat that is naturally tender and juicy.

Buffalo Meat is Great Roasted, or Burgers on the Grill

You will have the most success by cooking the meat slowly at low temperatures. If you are roasting it, make sure to have it ready ahead of time so you can cook it for several hours. Buffalo is can also be absolutely delicious when grilled or fried. Just make sure to check and turn it often. When the meat is done, it should be dark brown on the outside and lighter and juicy on the inside. Not only will you enjoy the taste, but also your body will thank you because of the high nutritional value of eating buffalo.

Get the best out of your high speed blender

The category of electronic kitchen appliances have made life easier for the women in the kitchen and are a great time savers. Daily we wake up and the gadgets start working for us, once any of these appliance fail to perform at the time we needed it the most, then only we realize the true value of that product. Blenders is one of the important parts of the kitchen but it is ignored as it is one of the smallest appliances used in kitchen.

Most of us think that food processor will solve the purpose of blending but the fact is that food processors are meant for solid food grinding, mixing and shredding and blenders are made for handling the liquid or semi liquid food. There are many different varieties of blenders available and are usually segregated upon its usage and the kind of hardship it is put forth to. These high speed blender’s electronic power ranges between 350-1500 watts. You may choose a 500 watt blender in case the blender is required for light use, like making frozen drinks or smoothies.

Hand held high speed blenders built for handling the light product mixing, blending and are usually available with different attachments, you can pick and choose the one you need separately. Hand held blenders have been in high demand because of there small size and easy maintenance, the cuisinart CSB-76 smart stick hand blender is the star product of this category and talking of star products if your need is high you can buy vita-mix blender 5000 even with closed eyes. Hand blenders are preferred for blending, pureeing and mixing right in a bowl or hot pot on the fire. These have extended the series by adding variety of ice crushing and chopping blades. Blenders are portable and light weighted and if space is the challenge then you can also hang them easily on the wall. They also have the option of cordless battery operated models which enables you to move your kitchen anywhere you want, whether out partying or may be watching your favorite soap-opera while doing the blending for the family.

A normal speed kitchen blender can cost you between $50 – $150 but a high performance blender can cost you between quite high almost between $300 – $2500. The high speed blenders have an adjustable speed format and the requirement drives the speed required to chop the things. As the requirement changes the speed can be lowered or increased at any point of time. Before investing in these blenders you must read the review of the blender that you think can handle your requirement, ask the experts online, get information from reviews, learn from the customer responses on the product quality, you will get a fair idea about the product and whether you would take the one or look for others.

Pasta done quick with a blender

A speed blender is going to help make life for your kinds and yourself a lot more easier than you would have ever imagined. Not only is it going to be easier and faster to cook meals that you’ve been used to eating fro a whole, but the immense versatility of any blender that you get is going to let you cook a lot more dishes than what would have been possible without a blender. Italian food takes a lot of time to cook if it has to be done right, sure I can whip up italian anything in a couple of minutes is the time and the kids demand it, but usually I like to spend atleast an hour making and cooking the sauces, dressings and the condiments for the dish.

The thing with pasta is that in order to make it taste like the way the Italians intended it to be all the ingredients for the dressing need to be prepared fresh. The major component of spaghetti and meatballs or pasta in general is the tomatoes that go into them. While pretty much everyone uses tomato puree nowadays, the truth is and I know deep down inside you know it too that they taste nothing like real tomatoes. Coming from someone who has tried pretty much every available brand of tomato puree, the taste is off by a few factors namely the tanginess of the tomatoes as well as the sauciness of the puree. And some of the bad ones are so saucy to taste that the tanginess is missing altogether.

Once you’ve got the tomatoes and the herbs into the blender (I prefer to use the Vita Mix 1300 TurboBlend 4500)  and are done chopping all of the inions sauté the resulting paste and plop it into a pan with your boiled pasta for the best tasting pasta that you children have ever eaten.

One of the best ways to make sure that you can make the same good tasting recipe over and over again is by using a kitchen scale. This very simple instrument can significantly change the way you prepare food. An electronic kitchen scale can pack its own memory chip that allows it to store vital food and weight information. This can give you the ability to automatically detect excesses in your ingredients that you previously saved on its system as unfit. This can be a major step towards a healthier way of preparing food. The nutrition scale, a digital scale hybrid can detect net carbohydrate content and calorie count that can also aid people with sensitive medical conditions to carefully watch for the food they eat.

Regardless of what you want to get in a digital scale, through technology these wants are slowly answered. With taste and health issue addressed, the digital scale’s efficiency is also very impressive. Because of its numeric LED display, you can go away with reading analog dials that can sometimes be very difficult to do, especially in fast paced cooking. The digital scale is made up of low maintenance materials like stainless steel and plastic. With enough care and maintenance the electronic scale can last for a very long time.

Aroma Rice Cookers – The Cheap Alternative

If you are a big fan of eating rice, but do not want to spend the big dollars for authentic Japanese rice cooker you do have cheaper alternatives available.  Budget rice cookers are available from many different online retailers, and also from brick and mortar retailers.  One inexpensive model line is the aroma rice cooker selection.

Aroma rice cookers give you the basic functionality of Japanese rice cookers without the requirement to pay the premium price.  For only thirty to forty dollars you gain the ability to cook rice.

The premium Japanese products give you the ability to cook all kinds of rice – from white and brown rice, to sticky and sushi rice.  However, many people do not really need all this advanced functionality. If you just want the basic ability to cook boring white rice, then a cheap Aroma rice cooker will do all you need.

A model like the Aroma ARC838TC rice cooker is readily available online from Amazon or locally from many retailers.  This cooker is a great option for a cheap rice cooker; it is capable of cooking eight cups of rice, more than enough to serve a dozen people.  It is rare household that will require more capacity than this.

Note that while these Aroma cookers have fewer options than the Japanese models, with a little ingenuity they can handle some of the more complicated rice recipes.  Some experimenting with stirring at different points during cooking, and varying the amount of water added and items like brown rice and sushi rice may well be preparable.

There is nothing wrong with purchasing a Japanese model rice cooker – such as a Zojirushi – if your budget allows.  However, if you would rather save the money then the bare bone basics Aroma rice cooker will serve your homes kitchen perfectly fine.

Fresh Coffee with a Blender

Everyone remembers blenders from their childhood when a blender used to be a third wheel to a food processor and dough maker duo. In those times, with the limited amount of tech that was available, there was little that a blender could do that would be of any use to anyones in the kitchen. The memory of when we got our first blender is as fresh in my head as if it happened yesterday. Being an electronics aficionado in those days had its moments! Anyway, what my mother would use the blender most for would be to whip or ‘mix’ liquids she felt too bored to do by hand and that was all the blender did until I took it apart to study and never quite got it back, but that is another story entirely.

Today’s blenders measure blending ability in horse power! Some blenders measure it in watts though but that is usually done across the other side of the atlantic in the EU and allied nations. A speed blender would make for the perfect coffee grinder in addition to being perfect for a number of other jobs like whipping cream dressing for your sundae and making the perfect salad dressings for your pasta.

There is nothing that beats the taste of coffee that’s been made with freshly ground beans and it really is something you only appreciate it when you’ve had the chance to experience it or been denied the chance of having it when you’ve developed a taste for it. Everything else, even coffee at your local coffee place will taste like warm brown water, I promise. What this means for you is that you can afford to elevate your early morning experience with little additional that is something that can easily be justified. It is after all a home appliance that the whole family will use, just like mine loves our Vita Mix 1300 TurboBlend 4500.

What should I buy – a bucket or a tub?

As someone who runs a Home & Family site — or in other words what one would call a family advice site, I get asked about what would make for an ideal purchase all the time. Parents want to know what would be the better option to go for — a specialized plastic tub for bathing their baby or a shallow tub for the same purpose. I prefer to answer this one with a question – How many kids do you have?

While it may seem like a weird answer at first, it is imperative that you understand my motives behind it. If you’ve got more than a single child or are planning for more to be on their way then it makes sense to buy the specialized baby plastic tub. Otherwise, why would you want to waste money on something that you will use only for a couple of months and then have to throw out? That too in this economy. What you need is a shallow bucket, preferably half a foot in height and if possible in an oval shape. This allows you to bathe your baby in the most effective manner possible. All you need to do is place a small towel behind their head to ensure that it stays above the water at all times. After that you make sure that you have one hand placed right below the nape of your baby’s neck at all times — a small, but important precaution just in case.

A plastic tub is a great way to ensure that the money you spend now can be used later on as well. One of the best uses of this small bucket that I’ve personally found (the things being a mother of three will teach you)! is as a plastic laundry basket. I use it to segregate and separate my whites from my coloreds.
