Buy the Edward Engine

I buy most of my Thomas stuff from allAboardToys or from Ebay. As I write this, on allaboardtoys the price for wooden Edward is $15.97 and takealong Edward is $7.17. On Ebay, you can find brand new, still-in-the-box Edward for $6.00. Edward tends to be more expensive than, say, Thomas because Edward comes with a tender.

Edward is not the most popular train with the kids. He looks similar to thomas in that he is small and blue, but he is a different kind of engine and comes with a tender (the small coal car he pulls behind). His tender has a 2 on it, which distinguishes it from Gordon's tender.

Edward's biggest personality trait is that he is kind. He is a calm, older engine who get's the younger trains back in line.

Edward is a good choice for a gift because he is a heavily-used train and therefore heavily-played with, but he is not the first choice for parents to buy, so chances are decent some children don't have him yet.
