Kids of all ages really enjoy making creepy, gross, and disgusting foods to eat. I think it’s the nature of the grossness that kids just really love to see come alive and then get to gross out other people by eating it. Gross Halloween recipes are perfect to get kids excited about the holiday season and cooking in general. Kids just love to be in the kitchen and get their hands dirty, and these fun Halloween recipes make it even that much more fun for them.

One of the best kids Halloween recipes entails creating creepy and gross frozen eyeball treats. They are pretty simple and make a lasting impression on the kids any time- Halloween or not!

Start by taking some plastic easter eggs and opening them up. In each half of the egg, place a gummy lifesaver candy- the soft kind and then a small chocolate chip inside the lifesavers hole (these are the eyes). Take a spoon full of vanilla pudding and place in inside the egg right on top of the lifesaver eyeball. Then take the entire thing and place them into the freezer. To keep them from tipping over you can use an egg carton to keep them still. Once the eyes are frozen, take them out of the freezer and using the back of the spoon press the frozen mixture until the eye comes out of the plastic eye. Place the frozen eyeball upright on a place and serve quickly so they don’t melt! These make great treats for kids and you will enjoy watching them freak out over the look.

This recipe is easy enough for kids and parents to do it together so make sure they get to play a role in creating these frozen eyeball treats. You can be creative in making them as well- its fine to use different types of puddings, eyes, and more. Have fun and enjoy making gross, yet yummy Halloween kids dessert.
